Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We currently have a massage spa in Dallas, TX. We are expanding to include full services; massage, haircut, all spa services but catering to men.

Is this going to be a completely separate business in a different physical location? Who is the primary target audience? How are you going to market to them? Do you have a business plan? A marketing plan?

What is the positioning? How do you want your target audience to perceive the business? Is the primary purchaser going to be the person who receives the service, or will it be a spouse or significant other? Or are you going to try to get corporate clients?

Many questions, but all important if we're going to come up with a name that will actually make a difference. (If that's NOT what you want, just call it "The Dallas Men's Spa.")

No, this will be an expansion of the current business. The primary target audience is Men, 25-54 years old. We are marketing to the local businesses in the area as many of them are male oriented, meaning middle management offices, clubs, bars, gentleman's clubs. The primary purchaser is going to be te receiver of the services.

More questions.... what do you think is a key insight of those men purchasers age 25 to 54?

A good name must contain an emotional trigger driven by a key customer insight. What really drives these men? What makes them purchase? I could guess at it, but you know more than I.

What drives our current clients to purchase is the chance to relax and forget about the stress they are dealing with. The thought is to allow them to have an atmosphere where they can treat themselves to a small luxury and hang out with their friends colleagues while de-stressing.

I like "Oasis" to communicate the restful break in the otherwise stressful journey. Maybe modify with a location name ... e.g., "Plano Oasis" or "Richardson Oasis" etc.

Sounds like you've done some good thinking about the strategy.

Also might want a tagline to go with the name. You can reference "men" in the tagline so your target audience will understand it's for them.

    I like Jay's "The Cave"

There is a concept that every once and a while men must retreat to their cave to recharge.
