Need Help With Changing Name Of Jewelry Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have an existing business selling jewellery online. I haven't been able to put much time into this business so I am not worried about starting over with a new name. I don't really like my original name.. The HeartSoul Treasure Company. I would like something different. I would like something that is catchy and appeals to the western, cowgirl, ranchy type person. BUT I don't want to use cowgirl in the name. My target customer will be women from 25-45 who like big turquoise, chunky one of a kind designs. I will also be selling sassy t-shirts that are for women who aren't scared to be different and take the path less traveled. I really like the word wayward. I thought about Wayward Saints with the tag line Rebellious, Spirited, Forgiven. I also like Deep South Junk Co. and Eula Faye's (after my grandmother who taught me to be independent and fierce. Please help!

"I thought about Wayward Saints with the tag line Rebellious, Spirited, Forgiven."

    Wayward Girl
    Wayward Hearts
    Wayward ...

As Phil said, your tagline is also important. Not sure " Rebellious, Spirited, Forgiven." will help you that much.

I am thinking of taglines as keyword phrases meaning a phrase somebody would put in a google search to find products like yours. And the more specific the better in most cases because it will stand out and be memorable:

    Western Designs for Women
    Western Jewelry for Women

    hope this helps

    I like "Wayward Saints".

I agree with the others that your tagline should be something that tells people what you sell as the "Rebellious, Spirited, Forgiven" does not. This is not to say that that saying could not be integrated into your website or materials.

How about "Jewellery and Apparel for the Cow Girl at Heart" for a tagline.

I like the word "treasure" in your original name, and I think with a bit of tweaking that could be the key… I also think you have a beautiful and distinctive name… My first thoughts were Tamika's Texan Treasure Co, which has a bit of an old west feel to it…

However, I think it would be quite confident and sophisticated to use your name alone, reinforced by an appropriate strapline.
    Something along the lines of

    Tamika Mayfield
    Texan Treasures with Attitude

Incidentally, and I know this will be on your list, I think your website needs bringing up to date a little. This is your shop window after all! I don't want to be over critical, but there are some simple things you could do to improve it that won't cost a fortune. I think your product photography is great, original and distinctive, let your website showcase this to it's best advantage.

A different market, and a different feel, but have a look at https://www.samarajames.com this is a site we helped develop. (BTW- Samara James isn't a real person, but the name has the right 'feel' for the market.) Weave a bit of Texan magic, use the personal touch and you're on to a winner. Overall I think you're doing great – you've got a defined market, a great product and a great 'story'. All the best, good luck!
