Name For Private Dog Club Newsletter

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
We have been advised that a newsletter would be a good way to attract new members as well as educate dog owners in our community. We are a private dog club and off-leash park (members must pass an evaluation to prove that dog is social and owner has skills to manage the dog in an off-leash situation).
We also do training, K9 units and other sports as well as deal with behavior issues. We want to put out a newsletter about happenings with members of the club and help advise non-members about the benefits of socialization and early training as well as promote the fun aspect of the club. We do not want anything cutesy, we don't like to use the words paw or woof in a pun manner if that makes sense. The name of the club is "WolfBrook Dog Club and Park". Just for an idea of taglines we have used on our tshirts-"unleash your dog's inner wolf..." and "My dog is a member of the pack at..."
We are planning on putting the newsletter at area businesses, not only dog related businesses but dentist offices, oil change places etc.
Thanks all,
Annette Holbrook

    I'm not sure if I totally understand your post, Phil, but I think you're telling me not to overdo the commercial thing in the newsletter. At this point, we are planning on a section on our "star" member, ie a pic and blurb about a member and their dog and their story. We also plan on having a section with our training schedule and then the rest will be informative to dog owners, how to deal with barking dogs, where to go to watch cool dog competitions in the Atlanta area, maybe an ask the trainer section, tips for when you go to a public dog park, list of top 10 dog breeds or dog names, that type of thing.

    Annette,

    It sounds as if you're on the right track regarding the content of the newsletter.

    A word of caution on the 'inner wolf' type of concept - I understand the spin-off from the Wolfbrook name but wolves and wolf hybrids do not have the best reputation. While highly intelligent, they can be seen as aggressive, violent, fearsome - probably not the image you're going for.

    What struck me in reading your description was that it sounded a lot like a country club for dogs. Perhaps this would be an avenue worth exploring.

    I'm a bit pressed for time at the moment will try to get back with some possible names over the weekend.

    * The Pack Advantage
    * The Well-Heeled Dog
    * Good Dog

    Thanks all for the input. I think I'm going to use a combo of some of the suggestions made.
    Now comes the hard part, coming up with content :0.

    Ok, how about
    "Tales from the Park Side"

    If not a name for the entire newsletter at least a name for a segment?
    Too hokey? It makes me smile but I'm kind of easy to amuse.
