Conn. Trailer Food Sales In Town, Festivals, Fairs

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Ok, I have a marketing degree from alabama but unfortunately there was no class about naming a business. I bought this trailer - an 8 x 16 big yellow professional unit. It has a 36 inch flattop and and deep fryers. In town I will be doing burger, fresh hand cut fries, cheese steak sandwiches, and Nathans hot dogs.

On the road it will be corn dogs, spicy corn dogs, fries, lemon, orange, and lime shakeups, and possibly other items as necessary because different events may have an established vendor doing these foods. One of my backups is a pork tenderloin sandwich.

I've had it since dec. 28th and have been thinking of names since before than. I always wanted to have a place called "munchies" but there is a "mr. Munchies" within a few 100 miles, but in a different state (IL). He does our fair here in cape girardeau, mo so I did not want a name to similar. My name is Dominique and a suggestion was to try "Dom's Mobile Munchies".

I don't think the name is as important on the road as it is in town. On the road I'm just the yellow trailer with the great corn dogs. In town I want to make sure my name is something easy to say and remember. I just did not think "Let's go eat at dom's mobile munchies" exactly rolled off the tongue.

My next idea was to call it "The Lunch Box". Works great in town, because I will only serve lunch, but may seem silly at 10 oclock at night at a festival or if I take a job doing a reunion or gathering.

Someone then suggested the combination - The Munch Box. I liked it but it kind of has a bit of a dirty sound too it...

I'm really running out of time and was searching name ideas on line and came across this site, it looks like something I will frequent because I love marketing and related issues. I'm excited to have my own business so I can put these principles to work...

But in order to get shirts, an LLC, and logos on the trailer, I need a name...

So to recap. Its mobile. Its big and yellow if you have an idea off that (my mom suggested the yellow submarine but i won't have sub sandwiches so maybe confusing.) My menu will have to be adaptable for fairs and festivals so naming after one food will not work.

I just need the perfect name and hundreds of ideas later, these are the only ones worth sharing...

Please give me any thoughts and tips! Thank you so much!

Oh, and just realized my headline made it look like i'm from connecticut. "conn" was just my not thinking way of abbreviating concession. Guess i should have used "cons". Damn short headline limits!

Anyway, I'm actually in Southeast Missouri.
