Cattle & Co. You Choose The Name...

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Further to my post in Branding, I have a list of names that we registered domains to, and are now down to the final stages of the selection.

Our business is Graphic Design, Web Development & Internet Marketing.

It would be really cool if you chose one name you like and give a reason why...

    Phil,

    I take what you are saying, but it would be nice if you could give me some examples.

    When you say suspended, hanging in mid air can you give me pertinent examples of names that are not?

    Thanks for the input.

    You can obviously choose any name and succeed with it, if you're willing to spend $ and time educating people why you're so wonderful (and proving it).

    However, if you want people to get a clue what you do, then you'll need a name that's more "obvious". For example:

    * Web Success
    * Branding That Works
    * Branding Consulting Corp.
    * Graphical Marketing

    I think what Phil means is that the names aren't memorable. You could, of course, name it anything (as Jay said) and then educate people (worked for Ogilvy & Mather). Or, you could come up with something that's remarkable. Purple Cow Creative (though I think Seth Godin has a lock on that, but you get the idea).
