Idea For Marketingprofs

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Would anyone be interested in a know-how exchange environment (point system), that would focus on brainstorming product and service offerings, and connecting potential business's, ideas, people, and consumers? Would this "professional networking environment" be possible without getting a tidal wave of ads and spam?

Absolutely. Sounds kinda like Spoke or Ecademy.

Personally, I would rather cut to the chase and make it like elance.com, where people post projects and the members bid on them. The scripts are practically automatic (you can buy the ebay site code for $300 and have a fully automatic auction site just like ebay...and motify it anyway you want). Surely there is one smiar to elance that one could implement without hiring a crew of people to operate it. That is until it starts generating enough revenue and customer service requests to justify the expense.

Anyway, sounds like you have something cooking. Care to let us in on the plan? (Trust me, I am WAY too busy to "steal" any ideas).

Let me know what you have in mind.

    mjklanac,

Sounds quite interesting. I would be interested but I'm not quite sure if this would not usher in some kind of negative residual like spam or ads. I would like to here more and similar to Jett I have way...way...too many ideas I'm giving birth to daily to steal from you or any of your family members. Plus right now Jett's got me so-ooo-oooo busy I'm going to have to clone myself soon. Is there anything else I can do for you?

I'd be very interested in a service for cloning marketing experts.

Would that be based on SWOT-cell research?

I bet Val would be willing to share how they keep the ads and spam out of KHE.

MJK, my comment on cloning was just an impulsive response to Deremiah's posting. Pure silliness.

Sorry, sometimes my sense of humor gets off track...

It's a Linux box and I can give you whatever you need as far as space, bandwidth etc.

Sooooooooo, feed me some more details. You can send me an email if you want.

I'm Blaine. I think they are referring to the profit/job posting model.

To answer Jill's question, "you don't know". It's just like hiring anyone via other means.

The best way is to provide profiles, portfolios, and a feedback area.

Jill, have you checked out www.elance.com ? It is much different than ebay. The lowest bid rarely gets the job.

Anyway, I hope that clarifies things a bit.

I agree Vigorgraphics. I'm not cheap and my consulting fees have never went to the lowest bidder even though I've done some things for people for FREE. You heard me right I said I've done things for some of my clients for FREE... but those jobs had future value. Otherwise we just might as well open up www.CheapMarketing.com and that's not an option. Is there anything else I can do for you?

One of the problems elance has with regards to cheapening our services is they have minimum bids set at $75 per project! I charge twice that PER HOUR!!

A "premier" bidding structure could have parameters set so as not to cheapen our rates.

This would weed out the folks looking for dollar store consultants.
