Help With Tagline In Hawaii

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting a personal chef company called simply "Big Island Personal Chefs"'. I imagine my market will be full time and part time residents as well as vacationers/tourists. I went with a basic name so I would like a tag line that will catch peoples attention. I need to get started soon. Any ideas?

What is the most important benefit your customers want? Is is mostly convenience? Is it healthy meals? Is it pampering? Is it taste, quality, luxury?

It's probably pretty important that you figure out which of these benefits you want to hang your hat on, and go with that one. If you go for multiple benefits, you'll just confuse people.

Ideally you can come up with an emotional benefit (a/k/a an "end-end-benefit") that will really appeal to your primary target audience. If you haven't gone through a positioning process, you probably ought to start there. Otherwise it's a shot in the dark to come up with a good -- and effective -- tagline.

If you need some help with the positioning statement, there's an appendix in Rasputin For Hire that has a lot of information about creating an effective positioning statement. It also includes the 8 checklist items for a good positioning. Worth spending some time on this, if you haven't already.

Are you offering cooking lessons or prepared meals (cooked at their home or delivered or for pickup)?
What type of food are you specializing in?
What type of clientele are you looking for?
