Company Name For Outdoor Product Innov. Company

Posted by Blanche01 on 250 Points
My company was almost through the Trademark process on our new brand for our outdoor products line and ran into a problem with a company who makes toilets. So, we are back to the drawing board.

Would love any insights or suggestions anyone has for outdoor brand names. We are focused on ACTIVE OUTDOOR products that are portable. Folding chairs, hammocks, tents, backpacks, etc...

We are a modern company that prides ourselves on leading the industry in technology. Our mantra is Life.Balance.Realized.

We would like to have the word start with a K, since our logo already in distribution focuses on a K logo, but if something really stands out besides a K, I am open to it.

Who is your primary target audience? Where are they and how do they decide to purchase your products? Is it usually an impulse purchase, or is it a more considered purchase?

This is a great chance to score a coup by picking a name that also communicates your primary positioning benefit. We just need to understand that positioning benefit a little more clearly. What makes you different from, and better than, your competitors? What unique benefit do you provide?

Our primary audience is active boomers and up and coming generation y consumers that are not outdoor elitist like patagonia consumers but outdoor enthusiast that will find our product useful when camping with family and tailgating at their favorite football game. In the future we want to grow into our brand and consider participating in life sport accessories like yoga, frisbee, etc... A considered purchase, although with realistic understanding that some of our products like folding chairs will pick their store and then make the decision at the aisle as to which folding chair to buy.

Our competitive advantage is technology or innovation. Our item that got the company its big break is our folding chair, the reason customers love it is because it locks in place with our technology. It also provides more comfort because you are not so slouched over in your seat like most folding chairs. Our ability to work quickly with agressive product innovation is what consumers are finding so favorable about our products early on in this process. Hope that helps!

What about us generation X consumers? :-) That would include me and many people I know who are very into the outdoors. I am just curious why you skipped from Y straight to boomers without a stop in between?

Anyway, this may be a bit campy a name but how about this:

    Komfort Outdoors

Somehow I get the feeling you are focusing on being comfortable while being outdoors (e.g., camping) and as one who camps a lot I can attest that it is highly valued to be comfortably sitting around the fire.

I have a really good naming idea that starts with a K but I would have to charge for this one. It is just too hard hitting and brilliant.
