Need Tagline For Online Group/club Support Site

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi. I am creating a new web site that people will use to manage their clubs and groups. These can be hobby clubs, sports clubs, professional clubs, etc., any kind of group that might follow the traditional club model. The site is called juntopia.com and it is being designed right now (I just have a placeholder web page up in the meantime).

I've always loved the iPod tagline "1,000 songs in your pocket" and have been trying to come up with something as clever and catchy as possible. I have a few ideas but I'm not in love with any of them.

Any and all suggestions would be most appreciated!

What's the benefit that a user might appreciate? What problem are you solving? Are people having a problem managing their club memberships? Why might they want to participate in your solution?

The tagline should communicate that benefit and disclose what you do/offer them. (The name "juntopia" doesn't do either.) Just being "clever and catchy" won't cut it. There has to be some substance in your positioning, and that's what you need to capture in the tagline.

If you can help us understand the benefit, we can probably help you with a tagline.

    Thanks for the response.

The benefits to the user are numerous. If forced to choose I would have to say the most important ones would be:
    - ease of use; intuitive automation of tasks
    - all your club/group management tools in one place
    - online marketing of your club or group's mission, events, etc.
    - sharing of critical information inside and outside group using relevant methods

This is far from a polished list, I just came up with it in my own simple non-marketer words.

The "1,000 songs in your pocket" example was not meant to illustrate that it was catchy, but that 1) it says so much with so little and 2) it's memorable. I want to try to emulate that, but my brain just isn't that clever ;-).

I hope this gives you a better sense of what Juntopia will do/be. I'm happy to answer any more questions if it would help.

One other thing I forgot to mention... not only is Juntopia going to be free (all others I found are subscription based) but that I am thinking of providing an option for the clubs to actually share in the advertising revenue. There will also be a charity component (i.e. charity of your choices gets X% of profits). I haven't thought it all the way through yet.

    Thanks.

Hi Randall. Thanks for your input. I'm not really clear on the FREE-Z component. Is the "-Z" something relevant? Sorry I'm just not getting it.

I don't have a tagline now so there's nothing to "restructure". I did have a couple of lame ideas but essentially I've got a blank slate in front of me.

    Any other thoughts or ideas?

Jay - thanks for those ideas. They are definitely on the track of what I was thinking of.

I'll leave it open a bit longer to see if anyone comes up with anything else.
