For Networking Business Cards

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am new to this website. You all are awesome!! Love some of your ideas. I am new to the job market and new to this Northern Colorado area we moved to. I have been taking classes on networking. The biggest item here is having catchy business cards that I am looking for a job in accounting. Going to a big job fair tomorrow. What I believe I have to offer is that I am very detailed oriented, (I will hunt for a penny), dependable, and reliable. I am a team player, although I work very well independently as well. I did see an "I Love Numbering Crunching" that is pretty good.
My husband and I have been brainstorming and have thought of Ledger Lady, Record Redeemer. I am not a CPA. I just finished my first season as a tax preparer, so I work well with the public. Just not what I would want to do all year.

    Accurate Accountant ?

I'm not sure why you need a name per say... How about just a very clean, sharp card that states exactly what you said above: reliable, detail-oriented and independent. Try to make it stand out with a unique layout.

If you need to, eliminate your street address from the card. Eventually you may want a PO Box or a business office.

Yes, you can print out the cards yourself in a pinch. The feel of hand-printed cards is noticeable, and it doesn't create a strong first impression. Again, you're just starting out which people understand. But you want to convey success in everything you do, and the card is one of the first things people get from you.

Phil's right - a catchy name won't in itself help you get hired. Since you're starting out, you might not want to continue to be the "Ledger Lady" in a few years from now. Better to pick a name that you can grow into or use your name and define what you do as a list of services.
