Looking For A Business Name, Slogan And Logo!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am starting an Export Marketing Agency, delivering a valuable and specialized service to South African Businesses. The companies’ vision is to be the preferred partner when thinking about international markets.

My clients will be South African Manufacturers (mostly black owned) wanting to market and export overseas. I will be working across industries (starting with steel) and need a name that can be built into a good recognizable brand. A big part of my business will be the marketing of products internationally.

The name will be incorporated with a logo (AFRICAN STYLE) and easily recognized by the target audience (South African Businesses). The company will be advertised on the internet and will eventually have its own website.

Any suggestions on a name? Any suggestions on a logo?

Thank you. Regards

What do South African manufacturers do now when they want to do business internationally? Are there others in the export consulting field? If so, what are you bringing to the party that will give your target audience a reason to switch?

Have you spoken with, or done research among, your target audience? What are their most important unmet needs when it comes to getting advice about export marketing? What are the needs, values and attitudes of this market?

You probably ought to start your planning process with a SWOT analysis and development of a meaningful, benefit-oriented positioning statement. Once you have that we can help you come up with a name and tagline for your business. If we start with the name, with or without a logo, we're as likely to lead you in the wrong direction as the right direction.

    Mr. Goodman,

Thank you for your valuable time in responding. You have raised some interesting questions. I think I am leaning more towards becoming a Consultant. Although, I don’t want to restrict myself and if the opportunity arises I will administer the entire export operation.

I have a meeting this week with a potential client who has struck an export deal to the USA. She has indicated to me that she is not conversant with exporting and made it clear that she would like me to take over that function. I have some credentials in this regard. I have completed an Import and Export Management Diploma and a Marketing Degree.

Some services I will render includes: export costing, export finance, export marketing, credit checks, insurance, packaging, warehousing and distribution (although the last 3 services will be outsourced to a Freight Forwarder).

Everything is happening so quickly and I simply don’t have the time to do everything. What is the most valuable thing to do after completing my SWOT analysis? Do you think it is the right time to do a full competitor and industry analysis?

I think some of the questions you asked I will incorporate into my preparation for the meeting this week. Mr. Goodman when you read this and some questions come to mind please list them, you will not believe the valuable direction of thinking I take on.

    Regards
PS: sorry for being so long winded.

How about simply, "Afrikaans Exports"? The URL is available (both as .com and .za)
