Tagline For Fun Diner

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Opening a new Diner "The Bitter Chef" and need a tag line. Don't want it to be "Java, Food, Fun" because we will be selling cocktails and making it an artsy, retro. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

if by bitter you mean less sugar in what you serve, then maybe something like "Bitter is Better".

I have often thought that most food and drink is too sweet for my taste and there is a market for products that are a little less sweet. Plus less sugar is healthier.

Everybody has there own sweetness gauge and less sweet represents xx% of the market, e.g. slightly bitter cocktails, slightly bitter syrup on pancakes, slightly bitter ice cream and milkshakes.

If this is anything like what you are going for, please see my profile for contact info. I would like to discuss this segment with you.

Steve, I am sorry I did not clarify. "Bitter" as in angry not taste. It's just a cute name like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld. A Fun Diner with a little attitude. Thank though for your response.

You'll eat it and you'll like it.

    Eat. GTFO.

It's good because we say so.

    Better than your mom's cooking.

You don't like it? That's your problem.

    Good enough to eat.

    It's better than your cooking.

    In your face!

Cooking what we want to cook.

    Sit down and shut up.

    EAT!

    Clean your plate.

I really liked lots of Phil's suggestions (like "you'll eat it and you'll like it", since it works both ways, not JUST the "attitude" way.)

But I, too, agree on "Bitter." My first reaction was, "You're kidding. What's he going to put in my food?"

I LOVE the idea of a mildly grumpy, 'Mel's Diner" kind of place. And I ALSO really loved the double meaning of "A kick-butt eating place" also from Phil.

So I hope you'll stay in that area, just replace "Bitter" somehow. And lots of the tag line suggestions above would make great signage all over the place. Give people things to read and laugh at while they wait/eat.m You know, like,

"If you like it, tell me. If you don't, tell someone who cares."
