I Need Help With A Name For My New Business

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am opening a "country Store" near the River in Ripley. I am selling sweets penny candel local crafts and other gifts. I am in business with another antiques store with a Rooster theme. We were thinking of Sweet Chicks something, but I am open to new ideas. I wanted something short so that the shirts and store logo would be about 3 words. Any ideas???/Thanks in advance

The business" are located in the same building. They are seperate, so that the two could also spereate in diff areas if needed.

It is a historic little town and people are always asking for little gifts and shirts with "Ripley" on them. Just some possible ideas.
    Thank you for your time

IF you are two separate businesses, I would be careful in choosing a name that either a) won't stand alone for you in the future or b) the other guy might fight you for in the future.

However, that doesn't mean you can't have some fun co-marketing/promoting your stuff -- in essence 3 names: 1 yours, 1 theirs and one you use together.

    Hi Christine,

I know this may not be the response you're looking for since I won't be making any name recommendations, but there are a couple of books (very quick reads) that I would recommend before jumping right into picking a name. They're both by Marty Neumeier: "The Brand Gap" and "Zag". They provide some quick overviews about the nature of brands, as well as how to create and nurture your brand. Even a few years after initially reading them, I always find myself going back and rereading chapters or looking at some of the basic diagrams. Because I do a lot of initial brand positioning and core messaging for companies, I found "Zag" to be especially helpful, and if you only want to buy one, that would be my recommendation.

I hope this helps in a roundabout way!

Why not simply, Ripley Country Store? The rooster theme could easily dovetail with this (and other barnyard animals as well).
