    Dear Bianca202,

Got a cool name? Good for you. Huzzah! Triple gins all round.

But what's that? You've no business to attache to this cool name?

Oh dear. You see unless you have the luxury of having a huge amount of capital or time or something valuable behind you, some cloud nine onto which you can fall back, your situation might be judged to be not so good.

True enough, having a cool name is one thing. But having an even cooler product or service that fills a niche that is cooler still or that creates a rush that would freeze hell is even better.

But to have THIS, one first (or most often) needs a point of leverage and that point is usually a need of some kind.

The best way to succeed to to first locate a need that a tightly focused niche of people have, or to find or unearth a problem of some kind that needs to be solved by a specific clutch of individuals, or to find some herd of souls, each one of whom has an itch that needs to be scratched.

    With me?

The point is then to connect one's product or service as the salve to that itch or as the solution to that problem. It can be done the other way around but at the moment your name alone might not be enough.

It's great that you've GOT this cool name. Now, your challenge is to find some wagon to hitch it to, and to do THAT, you need to think of the things you're interested or passionate about. I'm suggesting this because that interest, that passion will come through in your overall message, which in turn will make your product all the more appealing and make your sales all the higher in number.

I think each of the ideas you've put forward could work, but as to what your business ought to be, that decision's got to be yours.

So your biggest question right now is what is it that you're most passionate about? Whatever that thing is, that's your answer.

    I hope this helps.

Motherlious brought another name to me immediately:
Ma-licious which is NOT what you want...just thought I'd pass these thoughts along as food for thought.

As Gary says, I think you have a problem. You've allowed the tail to wag the dog. You have some interesting icing, but no cake.

My suggestion: Put the name on the shelf and let it sit there. Develop a business that interests you. Research your target market and determine what they need. Then find a way to fill that need.

Create a business plan to commercialize your concept. Develop a rough marketing plan and see how much you'll need to invest to really make your business a success. If everything works and you're excited to begin, flesh out the marketing plan. Find a name that really captures your intended positioning.

Then, dust off that name that's been sitting on the shelf. If by some chance it happens to be the exact same one you've come up with through your marketing planning process, use it. Otherwise, put it back on the shelf and wait for the next great business idea and repeat the whole process.

The name itself has no real value.
