Looking For A Name For Jewelry Business.

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I need to name my new at home jewelry business. I made glass tile pendants and scrabble tile pendants. Each one has a unique image on it (flowers, trees, vintage, patterns, celebrities etc. etc.) so the target marketing ranges for all ages (female 12-65). I want something that says this is a statement piece and says something about the person. Something with "Story" in it? All the pendant also have a glass-look to them so something along that line would be okay too. Or just some random name that sounds cool and modern but not cheesy. I don't want my name in it (Lisa) or anything that sounds too typical.

People can also order custom pendants and put a personal photo on it. I need a name right away as I have shows coming up! Thanks!

Nothing comes to mind right at the moment but one thing that DOES come to mind is the absolute necessity to look at what the market is looking for - i.e., check out Google Keyword Tool and see what people are looking for in your niche.

My wife's friend is starting a web site business as well for selling Jewelry. They thought of a name that was in no way related to the market on Google. That meant they would not be found by the thousands of people looking for jewelry on Google. I showed them how to 'ask the market' first, then name the store.

Otherwise, just choose any name that you like, but do not depend on it (the name) gaining you much traffic online. Something like 'Glass Tile Jewelry', while somewhat plain, use three keywords in the name (and perhaps title of your web site).

Google will reward you for doing that, as it matches what people are asking Google to deliver, when they type in keywords (Jewelry, Glass Jewelry, Tile Jewelry). The closer you can match what the market is looking for, the more you are going be found.

The only workaround is a non-keyword name, but then heavily seed the Desription and Title with keywords. But get all three right, and Google will do wonders for you.

    Hope that helps!
