Trade Name For An Independent Insurance Agency???

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello all! I'm looking for a trade name for an independent insurance agency. The agency will be located in the Northwest region of the US and will be focusing on sales in those States mostly but will occasionally reach out Nationwide. The products being sold are property, casualty, life and disability with an emphasis on the P&C side. We will targeting long term, mostly "preferred" and affluent type clientele as well as small to medium sized businesses.

So far, we've come up with two names; Amicus Insurance and Affiance Insurance. Amicus is latin for friend or comrade and was chosen because we want to build a lasting relationship with our clients. Affiance is defined as "trust; confidence; reliance" which could also work as the tagline.

Your thoughts???

    Hi Mike

Affiance is a name already in use by a financial services company near you - see https://www.affiancefinancial.com/

Personally, I like the Amicus name. A quick Google search doesn't reveal any close competitors.

I don't want or need my Agent to be my friend, sorry.

Try Alluvium (Place where precious minerals are deposited, collected by streams & rivlets, from glacial action)

Precious goods left 'here' after all your hard work over the years....for your consideration..

I really like the name Amicus as well and I disagree with Nova. An insurance agent in my experience is someone that knows their client quite well due to the nature of what it is they do. I have built lasting relationships with almost all of my clients. They ALL have my personal mobile number and are encouraged to call me, even off hours and weekends should the need arise. Furthermore, I'd like to send a message that we provide friendly service as well.

Affiance Financial is actually located in Minnesota which is not an area that we would market to at all. This agency would be located in the Pacific Northwest. I looked at their website and it doesn't look like they provide insurance services directly. I'm not sure how trade name law would apply in this situation so if that's a name that we decide to pursue, I'll definitely need some legal counsel first.

Thank you both for you input. Any other ideas out there?

No disrespect meant Mike but, like my Dry Cleaner, Mechanic or son's music teacher - Professional Results that benefit me are more important to me than a business friendship.

Courtesy yes! Know my needs yes! Be there when I need you - yes.

Alluvium may be the wrong A (latin type) name for you but Amicus sounds like Abacus to me which has connotations of being a bean counter interested in his returns not my security.

I can see your heart is the right place for your clients. Again sell the biggest Benefit for them ... is it friendship I wonder?
