    Dear rajivkoushik,

Let us pause. Let us reflect. Let us gather our thoughts and sift.

Let us ponder the remaining 24 letters of the alphabet and ask what they've ever done to deserve being discarded?

You need help to name your advertising and PR agency but you've offered ZERO. Were I your client and were I to find out that you appeared to lack the creativity to name your own company, do you think I might be taking my customer elsewhere?

Think about this, then come back with more facts.

Come on guys . . . this is getting ridiculous. The question was sincerely asked--regardless of its quality--and to be answered with this kind of sarcasm reflects badly on you and on MarketingProfs. Trust me gents, you don't really know everything there is to know and you have no right to humiliate people as though this forum were some kind of stupid chat room. That goes for you especially Mr Results whose approach is constantly snotty to people. People, even people you think you're smarter than, deserve respect.

As far as an agency wanting help with its name, that is a very common thing and you guys should know that.

To the questioner: a name is driven by what you do and who you do it for. It would help if you would provide your market target if you have one, your own understanding of your specific strengths (i.e., your USP), and your own background.

    Dear rajivkoushik (and Dear Michael),

Apologies to each of you, especially to rajivkoushik for my tone if it at all came across as sarcastic.

It wasn't meant to inflict public pain or doubt (I've been on the wrong end of rather a lot of that in my time, thank you), and it most certainly was NOT intended to be offensive or derogatory.

So again, my sincerest and deepest apologies if that's how my earlier response read. If it DID read that way, I am and idiot and in future, I'll think harder before I post my contribution.

I DO think the questioner needs to think a little more on exactly what he or she needs in terms of his or her company name and why it needs those things.

I also stand by my assertion that the questioner needs to flesh out their question to help anyone attempting to answer it (and thereby help them), and give a fuller question to answer.

So, I for one would sincerely appreciate a little more information as to the relevance of "H" and "B" (or "B" and "H") and a few pointers as to which clients you might want to serve, in which sector, and in what way.

Michael, as you so correctly point out, respect is indeed, important.

Respect is also (or ought to be) two other things: mutual and earned: from forum contributors answering questions; from people asking questions—many of whom come from all walks of life and backgrounds—AND BETWEEN forum contributors whether on this forum or off it.

Any differences of opinion on how individual contributors answer questions are perhaps best addressed to (and dealt with by) the KHE Forum moderator.

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers, some of which I'll confess I've given in my time. I'm also vividly aware that I don't know everything there is to know.

On the issue of who should know what, often—regardless of how much knowledge one might have—knowledge is not always the knight in shining armour that rides to the glorious rescue of the person possessing it that it perhaps ought to be.

I'm as guilty of this as anyone.

So, in order to restore some kind of calm, I'd like to offer the following simple solutions:

    B.H. Advertising & PR
    B & H Advertising & PR

    Are they prefect?

    Probably not.

But they answer the questioner's question.
