Want to reference the market you serve? Where are you? Do you have any areas of particular expertise you want to highlight? What is the profile of your ideal customer? The name should at least suggest the benefit your customer ought to expect when they hire you.

I familiar with the Red Seal desigation for Certified Carpenters in my area,is there some similar 'bench mark' in your region that consumers would recognize as a reassuring Quality Control Logo?

If so that Image could be a solid Identifier more than a cluster of too many words in a name or tagline .....like all the other untrained 'renovators' who compete with you.

    Fill us in if so.

Invent a new word: Renovinator. Like "Terminator", but to make renovations happen fast. Renovinator.com domain is even available!

Now invent the back story to explain what a Renovinator does... Why you're different - using all the explanations you've always used to explain who you are, your experience, your quality craftsmanship etc.

Adding "Established 1969" is a good way to signify your experience to your customers.

    Hi,

    Came up with few suggestions:

    Option1

    Home Innovator OR
    Home Innovaor since 1969

LOGIC - Renovator is widely used. But I suggest go with Innovator - Differentiate yourself from the rest

    Option 2
    HOMER the RENOVATOR OR
    Homer - The Renovation People

LOGIC - It relates to Home. Homer - A Popular character in Simpson. Renovator again translates what business you are into. A perfect fit, a perfect rhyme for your Business

Well, we can further get into Brand Positioning statement, product augmentaion etc.

Artisan Renos Since 19XX ... starting with "A" helps when listed alphabetically in any directory, speaks of your experience and implies quality without more words needed when attached to your date of inception.

Thank you all for you great suggestions , it has opened up a whole new avenue for me to pursue ,I am thinking along the line of "Dovetail Carpentry" tag line Quality Craftsmanship since 1969
somewhere else maybe on my web i would use a" a perfect fit for all your renovation"

Let me know what you think I still have points to give away

Dovetail suggests Cabinetry alone versus whole house constuction work to me.

Mortise and Tenon Joinery suggests solid, old world skills on a larger scale. I realize Dovetails are used in Timber framing too but not as well know as a dovetail furniture drawer joints.

Did you know Stonehenge Sarsen stones were also dressed & fashioned with M & T joints holding lintels up where they were put in place some 2500 years a go - I didn't ... until now.

    Stonehenge Construction
    Building Landmarks For Years.

    Walker Carpentry
    Walking Tall Since 1969.

More food for thought I hope.
