Question

Topic: Taglines/Names

Just Need A Different Perspective

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am trying to come up with a name for a new bath and body line I am starting. My line will be focused on using exotic ingredients from the rain-forest in south america to the rice fields all the way in rural Asia. I have labs set up in both regions where I am currently undergoing R&D. My demographic is women between the ages of 23-40 and I live in NYC so my target market is pretty broad. I had some TM issues with my previous name and I had to come up with a new one. The name(s) I came up with are:

"ENDULGE" (yes I know it's not spelled correctly);
"ENDULJ" (with a 'J' instead of "ge", looks more exotic), and;
"ENDULGE ME"

I would like an honest opinion on the names as well a clear winner if any.

-Thanks

    Thanks Phil!!

    That was exactly what I was looking for. I should have specified that by "broad target market" I was talking about Race, ethnicity, etc. NYC is after all a melting pot. You are right about discretionary funds being limited in this economy, I will definitely take this into consideration. The R&D costs aren't really that significant as I am outsourcing the research work and it's usually on a fixed fee basis which was very hard to get. I travel a lot and meet contacts wherever I go.

    I'll keep the post open for another day in case someone else wants to chime in.

    The only thing I have to add is that even in bad economic times, women WILL spend money on cosmetics and skincare/bath/beauty products. Cost is a concern, but it does not prevent them from buying, and buying frequently. In fact, they buy more when the economy is bad, because it makes them feel better, and it's something they can do for themselves that costs less than a new sofa.

    There's plenty of research to back this up, and you can find active, online forums that will prove this.

    You'll do well with your niche. Exotic and certified organic are big right now. :)

    Good luck.

    Sorry, none of the names does it for me...although I get where you are headed. To me it scans as 'EndBulge', the two body areas women; well my wife anyway, says she worries about the most.

    Yes affordable luxuries leave room for imagining and escape so I also see merit in your plan.

    Anything exotic like a multi-lingual sounding word could work.

    EnVisage, relates to the face in french or imagine in english. Adds an additional flexibility for marketing with many exotic faces plus distant, imagined spa like settings.

    If URLs are taken, a Z could replace the S.
    Exotic Airport Codes could be included to identify where these ingredients came from in your copy giving the reader more reason to hover and feel how unique your offerings are.....

    My two cents worth, trying to add some spice.
