Blog Name Needed

I need to come up with a catchy name for a Blog. Our company in the banquet business, catering primarily to the wedding business. Our focus is broad market weddings focused on outstanding value, service and convenience. We want to be known as the wedding experts that can make your wedding experience bot easy and value oriented at the same time.

    You might want to pick a name that references your location and/or the name of the company. Since you didn't mention either one, I'm wondering if there's a reason.

    Also, you probably want to define the purpose of the blog so there is no confusion. WHY are you starting the blog? What would success look like for your blog? Is it for lead generation? Why would someone visit/read your blog? What's in it for them? And WHO is your primary target audience -- bride's parents, bride, other?

    Catchy? Please, for the love of God, don't do catchy!

    Your focus on "outstanding value, service and convenience"? It's been done. It's what EVERYONE offers. If you offer this too, you'll be just like every other banquet business.

    Which means you won't stand out. Which in turn means there will be even less to set you apart and make you stand out.

    What does this mean?

    It means that to be known as the wedding experts you must proclaim victory as you charge onto the field of battle.

    So, consider calling your blog "The Wedding Expert".

    Claim the high ground. Bold? Brash? Never been done before? Precisely my point! What's that you say? "But, we can't do that!"

    Why the hell not?

    If you stand around WAITING for someone to appoint you as the wedding expert you'll have a very long wait. If you want to be KNOWN as the Wedding Expert, begin calling yourself the Wedding Expert.

    The next thing you know, people will be referring to you—surprise, surprise—as "The Wedding Expert"

    And ease and value? They're great, but they are also givens, which means they may not be strong enough in and of themselves to push you to the top of people's mental lists when they need a banquet service.

    So you have to ask yourself—and your staff—what makes YOU different? What do you do that no one else does? Whatever that thing is, whatever edge you have, sharpen the living daylights out of it until it gleams.

    When everyone else competes on value and ease, look at things from your client's point of view.

    "Hmm?" thinks the happy couple "What do we want for our wedding day? Value and convenience? Or one of the most memorable, romantic, heart-warming, and joyful days of our lives?"

    See the difference? The trick here is to figure out what people need and what they'll remember you for, and then give it to them.

    I know of no one—NO ONE!—who leaves a wedding thinking
    "What a lovely day of value and convenience."

    Doesn't happen.

    But I know of hundreds of people that have attended and left weddings—after having had a stellar time—thinking "Now THAT was romantic, heart-warming, touching and joyful!"

    Even crusty, bitter and twisted, bad-tempered old buggers like
    ME think that!

    Why?

    Because at heart we are all—ALL—suckers for a happy ending.
