Tag Line

Posted by Anonymous on 2550 Points
Sorry I accepted a response before without reading the fine print, here is my question again.
I am a wine retailer with a ton of passion for the business and I am trying to create a tag line that will describe that. Most of the wine retailers have lost the passion for wine and only concentrate in ratings or reviews and not in what is in the bottle.
Here we go:
The Wine List of Summit
Tag line
it's about wine..........
Slogan
Knowledge inspired by passion..
Please let me know what you think? thanks

    hi Ivan,

a slogan and a tagline are the same thing.

Your name: The Wine List of Summit
Tagline: We Are Passionate About Wine

Your Name and your Tagline should reflect your marketing strategy or positioning. I'm not convinced that your name "The Wine List of Summit" is communicating your retail differentiation to your targeted audience. Would you consider a name change?

Hello Levon I like your first response: In passionate persuit of the best wines....
I think that I need more..

    Hello Steve,
The Wine list of Summit or www.winelistsummit.com is already trade mark so I will have to stick with the name. Thanks for your response.

    Steve,
I think someone already use "We are passionate about wines"

What's wrong with making your passion the core of your positioning is that it's not a benefit for your customers. What's in it for THEM if YOU are passionate about wine?

You need to follow the logic chain and ask yourself "So what?" If that means your passion assures them that they'll never get a bottle of wine they don't love (or you'll give them a full refund PLUS a free case of another wine), then your passion becomes support for a promise of "You'll never be disappointed when you buy wine from me."

You really need to find the benefit for your primary target audience. Don't tell them about YOU. Tell them about what's in it for THEM to do business with you.

    It's all about the wine.
    We cater to wine lovers.
For the wine lover, not the wine snob.
We care about the wine, not the label.
We focus on taste not talk.
Wine is a matter of taste not taste.

    Ivan,

After reviewing all the tags/slogans offered, I actually like your original the best. It's clean, succinct, not kitchy or goofy, and reinforces what you offer. As you don't need both a slogan and a tagline, perhaps the only thing it lacks is a category definition.

If the slogan always is used in conjunction with your brand name, then it's not an issue, otherwise you might amend it to:
    "Wine knowledge inspired by passion."

    All the best!

A few more options. Your website leads me to believe that your main competitive advantage is in your well curated selection of wines...so I tried for lines that play this out.

    Hi,

The whole idea is to communicate the true essence of the product what you are selling. Rather than focusing purely on Wine, consumer should be communciated with the attributes of the product. hence I suggets the following taglines:

    1. "Bliss Seller's Wine Shop"
    2. "Magic Geny in the Bottle"

Above are conventional taglines. One very wacky tagline:

    3. "Warning: Freaky Wines available"

    - It just grabs the attention, very unconventional

The slogan suggested by you Knowledge inspired by passion is very good line, but it was not directly related in Wine Business.

I hope someday I come n grab a bottle of wine from you!!!

    Cheers!!!
