Name/branding For Dental Practice

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Existing Dental Practice, My mother as a solo practitioner, no branding or marketing, mostly insurance based. She focuses her practice on children but does treat adult patients.

I am joining the practice. I do more extensive adult treatment. surgery, root canals, implants, fillings, bleaching, etc...

We have decided to incorporate and I need a name for our office.

She wants to have our last name in it, NEMAN.
I want it to sound professional. I also want to carry over the name into everything, brochures, website, phone system. So it should be easy to say, not too long.

I am looking for some ideas for names for the practice.

So far I have NEMAN FAMILY DENTAL

The name you've picked says it all. Stay with it. No need to fix what isn't broken

    Hi,
Try this apps for Iphone, https://www.thebrandgenerator.com
Its a real professional tool to generate (intelligent) brand names.
For exemple, you put your key concept in the field (Maybe NEMAN or DENTAL ), and after you select which kind of positioning you want to have for your brand . For you, maybe HEALTH CARE positioning can be OK for you or STATUS, or TRENDY) . Or try others. (there is 22 positioning in pro version)
The apps will generate semantic items added to key concept, wich express the positioning you choosed.
So it's provide you a list of ORIGINAL names, linked with your business et what is the positioning of it.
This apps is the same as used by the Brand Naming Agencies ! It is developed by a 20 years experienced prof in naming.
And if you don't have an Iphone oe an Itouch, ask a friend !

If you want the name of the practice to sound more 'professional' so that people will understand that you also offer more extensive and sophisticated services (such as surgery, root canals, cosmetic dentistry, etc.), you could change the name to Neman Dental Group, or Neman and Neman, DDS, PC,
and add a tagline that lists the services you provide.

That would convey the message that the practice provides family dentistry, as well as more specialized services for adults and children.

So, For example, a name with a Tagline would look like this?

    Neman Dental Associates
    -----------------------------
    General, Family & Implant Dentistry

I'd vote for Neman Dental Associates or Neman Dental Group

Tagline: General, Family, Surgical & Cosmetic Dentistry

The children your mother treats are going to grow up to be the adults that you'll probably treat. And now that you've joined the practice, their parents can now get more advanced treatments than were previously offered.

    That's a great benefit, indeed.

    The established name of "Neman"
is not something I would think you'd want to eliminate, since I'll bet that the Dr. Neman that built the practice worked pretty hard to build a great reputation, and instill trust in her patients.

You might not want to discount the impact of referrals, either. People who know your name will have a harder time remembering it - to refer you - if you change it too much. That includes patients, and insurance referrals.

If you take all the other comments into consideration, they all have lots of merit.

Either keep the established name, or add the word associates or group at the end of the current name.

People rely on skilled dentists to be their partner(s) in maintaining their dental health. You won't have to reinvent the wheel if you communicate that in your marketing efforts.

I would NOT try to come up with a name that doesn't include the Neman component. A few reasons:

    1. There's equity in that brand name; it means something to your patients.

    2. It suggests that there is a real person who cares somewhere in the office. It's not just a dental office, it's an office with a human dentist -- with a name -- in it (maybe even two of them).

    3. It focuses attention on the core benefit (a human one) rather than on the location of the office, the city you're in, or other less relevant feature.
