The Company Name I Like Too Long?

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I have a thermal imaging company which I named BlackBody Thermography ltd however, my father is closing his engineering company and moving all his work over to mine as a joint effort. I now feel that I need to change the name of my company as it is pointing to just Thermal Imaging and NOT the engineering side of things. The engineering side is specialised in industrial bakeries.

The name I like is: BlackBody Engineering & Thermal Imaging Solutiond ltd....however I feel it could be too long. I chose Blackbody as its a term used often in thermal engineering.

Should I change it to just BlackBody ltd but when advertising, use Engineering & Thermal Imaging Solutions under the name? Or, is it best to describe what you do in the name itself?

Thanks

Nathan

    Thanks Phil!

Its a long story but, my father hasnt been best with managing the finances and we may have to close the company down. It does wellll but has just been a bit of a managing disaster since it opened 5 yrs ago. My tthermal imaging company opened 3 months ago and, have noticed that dads engineering side was boosted when the chief engineers saw what my camera could do for there ovens ie saving on energy bils etc. Themal imaging companies use their cameras for a wide range of applications and their cameras are quite hi-tech and expensive compared to mine. My camera just has use for applications in the enginnering sector and we found that it is an appealing tool to use boost work in dads company.

Now dad has no choice but to shut down, I thought of transfering dads customers over to the "new company".

    What do you think?

    Thanks

    How about BlackBody Thermal Imaging?

Why not create a division of your company that's targeted for your father's clientele? For example, "BlackBody Engineering: A Division of BlackBody Thermography, Ltd."
