Name & Tagline Needed For Luxury Pet Care Start-up

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We have just finished a market research project that indicated wide acceptance of three proposed services: a grooming "spaw" (that offers luxurious pampering with high-end botanical spa services), a pet massage provider and private training with a dog trainer. All services are mobile: we will use a mobile grooming salon, the massages will be done in clients homes and the trainer will meet the clients at their homes as well.

We are very unique in our city being the first luxury spa and massage practice in the city. We need a name and tag line that captures the essence of what we are offering. We need the "big idea" to hang our marketing on.

We want to avoid the commonly used pet pun names or logos that involve cartoon drawing of dogs in bath tubs. Our services are very different and extremely luxurious compared to our competitors and we want to portray that difference.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Phil,

Our business well be located in Saskatchewan, Canada. Canada is just entering the recovery phase after our recession, which while significant was not as bad as what our friends to the south are experiencing. Saskatchewan is in particularly good shape. Our local governments are in surplus and we have the lowest unemployment rate in the country. Economic fears are significantly lower in my particular place.

Still, it will take a year for me to get everything ready to actually start business activities. My hope is the sluggish recovery we are seeing continues and consumer confidence increased somewhat in that time.

How about a name like a traditional "old money" family motto, e.g.

    Canis Luxuria

or you could use a name that simply states what you do:

Luxury Spa and Massage Services for Dogs

If the training is targeted at remedial practice with naughty or misbehaving (usually just bored) dogs, a great name in use over here in Australia is Barkbusters.

I think the training side of the business is distinctively different to the spa/massage side. Those two services clearly work together. Training doesn't work with either of them. You need to have two separate brands even if you market to the same segments.

Some interesting suggestions here. The thing that ties all three services is the "mobile" angle. Our target markets are two-income middle age families who value their pet's happiness, have the discretionary income to pamper them, and are usually pressed for time.

I do like the idea suggested by ChrisB of more of an "old money" name...I have just been completely unable to think of one I like!

Perhaps it would be wise to incorporte the company under one name...ParadisePaws or something...then have different brand names for each service. Like the grooming spa could be called Canine Coature by ParadisePaws or something.

I'm shooting in the dark here: any suggestions?
