Landscape Supply Business Name And Slogan

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I currently operate a landscape / industrial service company in Ontario Canada. At this time we mostly provide landscape construction services, but also do service work within new home service installs etc. The current business name is SLM Inc. which stands for Schoonhoven Landscape and Maintenance, which is a village in Holland where my family descends from. We are opening up a landscape supply facility which will mainly focus on the supply of cultured and natural stone, but will also have aggregates and soft materials available (soils, mulches, etc.). The area which we service is counrty oriented, but has alot of city folk moving into the area, thus the need for a supply centre, both wholesale and retail. I have come up with a few names but nothing has been catchy enough. Any suggestions? Examples: Stone's Throw Landscape Supply, Upper Bench L.S. (meaning a bench in a quarry), ??????????

Thanks for your help

AAAH Prince Edward County, a lovely part of the Country.

    Great detailed question, thank you.

A private or family name can be restrictive to those Come From Away folks who don't know you(B2C) ...using a geographical descriptor could be helpful on vehicles etc...PEC, Picton, Peninsula whatever is specific and unique compared to other competitors.

Perhaps focusing on your roots could be done in another way... Old World ... Old School, suggesting artisan's skills and values that we all seek.

Combine that with the clarity of Randall's direction and some emotional connection may also be made immediately to direct traffic your way.

    GoodLuck

I'm unclear if you're trying to play off SLM, Inc. (to connect the two businesses for name recognition) or create a name that's independent of SLM.

If you want to keep the connection, then follow Randall's & Phil's suggestions for a tagline, and make supply business a division of SLM.

If you want to break the connection, then you'll want something professional sounding, not cutesy (for the reasons given above).
