Opinions,names&taglines For A Cafe/takeaway Pls.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello ALL! Me and my husband are actually buying a 9month old small cafe/takeaway shop and i thought its existing name is a bit odd for a cafe shop. the name is sputnik cafe.
Im in little dilemma if i should change the name but for me its a 90% i have to change. coz the sales is a bit down and needs to improve the food and theme of the shop is all over the place. Like the chairs that they use are cold stainless with a funny shape like ones that ull never see in a coffee shop.
The shop is located on the outskirt of a commercial/residential building. My shop is a standalone and in the street level, and foodcourt is just upstairs.

And coffee and sandwiches competitions are very high in this area.

It sells wraps, sandwiches, croissants, muffins and coffee and bacon and egg toast. And i will introduce new product lines like yoghurt, cakes, smoothies fruit salads and fruit juices. and i think that's all for now coz im beginner on this business.

I thought a fresh new name, better quality food and adding new product line will be a good marketing strategy. Since i am keeping the barista and the chef then regular clients will still come back. In that case i have to change the theme of the shop like get wooden chairs.
Opinions, names and tag lines suggestions are welcome.
Something catchy for office workers where they but a takeaway or sit down, have breakfast or unwhine with a cup of coffee and light snacks like cake and wraps during lunch and afternoon tea breaks. It's also good for corporate team meetings.

Why are you buying the cafe? If people are used to the name, and it has a good reputation, then why change it? Change for the sake of change can be a very expensive mistake.

I'd start by asking your customers what they want that you don't yet serve. Test market your new offerings by adding to the menu for a week or so. Give free tastes to introduce the flavors and build interest. If people are willing to pay for something new, then add it to the menu long-term.

If you change the feeling of the space and the food, you're going to confuse your loyal customers and have to find new ones to replace them.

    hi,

when i read your announced, instantly I thought Paris. And it would be a great experience for everyone to begin the day with this kind of thoughts.

    the suggestion are:

Rendez-Vous >>> tagline "try it French"
    Evidence Cafee
    Bonjour Cafee
    Bon Journee

for office workers you could try:
    City Grill Cafe
    Snak Cottage
    Salut!

    greatings,
    a.

Thanks Jay, i appreciate that. I tried to feel the cafe as a customer by sitting inside and feel the atmosphere for two days before buying them. No much people really go inside for a coffee. maybe 3-4 tables were only occupied in a day. And if im the customer i wont even sit there and be comfortable. Customers are usually takeaway coffee and few wraps. and that's the main reason why i wanna change the atmosphere.

thanks Fade. sounds good. but im still open for opinions and suggestions.

Distinct but business related name...but different.

    Bell Curve Cafe.

You could either suggest that you are 'outside the norm.' that is, outside the bell curve graph or you serve only the best of what is 'out there' coffee, lunch etc. and consist of/inhabit the main part of the Bell Curve.

    Very graphic/logo friendly also..
