Hi Guys

I work for an airport that is embarking ona major outdoor campoaign trying to convey our USP's of convenience, value for money, ease of access and some great destinations. Im trying to come uop with a tagline which encompoasses some or all of these USP's. ideally im looking for a tagline or slogan no more than 4-5 words that can be the centrepiece of our billboard. Any ideas welcome

    Dear Donal,

According to your bio the airport you're talking about is in Ireland.
It would help us if you told us which one, and if you could give some information on the destinations flights head to.

You're trying to do too much with a short slogan. What's the most important benefit. Just focus on that one. If you try to do too much, you won't communicate anything worthwhile.

You might also think about who your most important target audience will be. Business? Pleasure? Families? Solo entrepreneurs? The more narrowly you define the primary target audience, and the most important benefit for that audience, the better job you'll be able to do.

Our main passenger demographic is 35-55 year olds with profile being leisure and visiting friends and relatives reason for travelling. We have an overall marketing strategy for 2010 which based around widening our catchment area and rasing brand awareness in the counties on the peripheray of our catchment trying to take traffic which tends to go to the biigger state airport. The sogan is part of a bilboard campaign that will images built around it so isnt just words but given 2 second view raqte on billboaords it needs to be clean and get our key message across

    Hi,

Have a look at the following slogan:

    1. " Experience the Difference" OR "Experience the Pleasure"
Logic: Airports are all about people's experience about airport facilities, services, cafes etc. for the time they spent till they board their respective flights. So, the above mentioned tagline fits perfectly!!!!

    Dear Donal,

I'm still clueless as to which airport and which destinations we're talking about. But the critical thing here is the concept of "catchy".

Note this and note it well: Catchy IS NOT A SELLING STRATEGY.

What you need here are simple benefits TELEGRAPHED to potential customers.

You don't need "catchy" to do this, you need a big, fat, pointy, heavy anchor. Something that cements your primary benefits into place in people's minds.

"Airport name: It's just easier!" along with a list of things that can go wrong on the way to the other airports farther away.

    I hope this helps.

    Donal,
I'm partial to airport ads that include the airport code in them.

    Examples
Take of and LANd near home
    NEVVer a long line.
