Need Help With A New Traning Program!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello!

My company is trying to make a new name for their training program. The material was made from people who started as associates and, as the company grew, were promoted into new roles such as a traning consultant. The training varies from customer service, to the services we offer, to managers sections, etc.

We are a short-term payday loan company. The name of the company is "The Cash Store". So far we've come up with "Cash Store College", but I'm looking for something a bit more interesting than that. Tell me what you got! Thanks for your help, guys!

I don't understand. Who is the target audience? Do you sell the training programs, or are they just for internal purposes? What are you trying to communicate with the name?

What's wrong with "Cash Store College?" Why do you want it to be "... more interesting?" What will that do for you? Do you want it to be more interesting for YOU or for some [not-yet-defined] target audience?

    Dear Nick,

Are you training your own staff or the staff of other companies?
    Or, are you training clients?

The other thing to consider is that unless it confers VALUE of some sort, the NAME of the training is pretty meaningless. On the whole, names and tag lines don't mean that much. What IS important is the implied meaning of association, and the result of having gone through the training.

Badges such as "accredited" this or that have significance and are weighted according to the validity or longevity of the organization giving the training.

The name you come up with needs to have some value attached to it, something meaningful that has a pay off for the holder.

    NAMES:

    Staff Accreditation Program
    Employee Empowerment Program
    CS Associate Accreditation

The other thing is that whatever the name is and whatever the training gives, the concept behind it must be continually backed up by management. I have vivid recollections of "Investors in People" training in the UK that in truth, was thought to be worth little by staff because there was a perceived lack of support from management.

    I hope this helps.
