Needed - Tagline For Non Profit Resale Shop

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi there -- I need help developing a tagline for a non-profit upscale resale shop in St. Louis, MO. The proceeds benefit The Independence Center -- a comprehensive system of high quality programs and services that assist adults in the St. Louis metropolitan area with serious and persistent mental illnesses. The center serves as a radius for independent and meaningful community life for its members.

Shop merchandise includes furniture, collectibles, antiques, designer-labeled clothing and accessories. Each day the store brings in new items that are donated by the generosity of others throughout the community. Many of the people working in the shop are members of the Independence Center -- people living with mental illness.

Some of the benefits of resale shopping include:
- never know what you will find (excitement of the "FIND")
- good for the environment -- keeps things out of landfills
- helps the non-profit
- not expensive

The shop is called the "Clubhouse Shop"

Thanks for your help!

Based on your clientele (not your Board of Directors), what's more important: finding bargains or supporting the Center? The difference in intention will make a big difference in the tagline.

Thanks for your questions. Jay -- the focus is finding bargains, thrift shopping, which in turn supports the center. Many of our customers don't know/ understand the larger mission (and that is OK). If we can get shoppers in the door, (as well as merchandise donors) that will ultimately help to increase revenues for the store (and the center).

Corpcommer -- Yes -- all items that we sell are used. They are donated items which we then resell. We are trying to attract more upscale donations than a typical Goodwill/ Salvation Army -- we merchandise in a very attractive way and provide a high level of customer service as well.
