Help With Naming My Bakery Business

i have been struggling with naming my in-home bakery business... i provide special occassion cakes and cupcakes for wedding, showers, birthdays etc. i also offer cookies for favors. my style is whimsial and traditional.. my clientel is word on mouth at this point, but it is growing. i plan on building a web site soon, but i need a catchy name!!!!! help

    hi, I think you should provide more info to get help on a name. What region are you in? Can you maybe put some pictures online on flickr or something so we can see what you mean by whimsical and traditional? Of course if you want a website, part of coming up with a name for you will involve searching to see if there is a URL available for that business name.

    If I think of names for cupcake business that have done well - I think of things like Sprinkles in California, I also find it interesting that in the UK they are called "Fairy Cakes". What do you think of names like "Real Cake", Sprinkles and Icing" "Eat Your Cake" ?

    (Aside: legally, you may wish to have a food license, use a commercial kitchen, and incorporate your business to protect both your clientele and your finances in case your cakes make someone ill)

    thanks for your responses... i am currently checking with legal advice and state requirement for license (thanks Phil and Jay) Kimberly, i have posted a couple of pictures on flickr.. this is very new and i appreciate any advice given.. my location is the Rhode Island if that helps.. thanks again

    Many don't and if you do, sell that in your name too!
