Tagline For Consulting Firm

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I recently purchased a consulting firm that has been in business for many years with no logo or branding of any kind.

The corporate name is Smith-Jones Associates, Inc. and our customers are U.S. Government Agency's so we are a very niche business offering personnel related services (writing policy, preperation of reports, training etc.).

I am considering using an initial based logo similar to what a law firm may use and the tag line "Exceptional Service for over 20 years" but it seems like an afterthought.

I would appreciate thoughts on this and/or other suggestions for logo design and tag line.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

    Hi Phil,

I agree with you in terms of losing identity so the current logo concept is a stylized version of the three initials followed by the full name of the company. The icon portion will have "since 1979" just under the graphic. I am reviewing different versions of that now.

    Other possible tagline ideas are:

    "Experience Counts" or "Experience Matters"
    "Quality Products - Timely Results"
    "Experience - Quality - Service = Results"

Or skip the "since 1979" under the icon and simply say
"providing EEO products and services since 1979"

I guess I am struggling with the importance of the tagline and if I should leave it out altoghether.

I can't say how much I appreciate the honest feedback.

    Regards,

The tagline may help you to sell to other government agencies, for example: "Proudly Supporting The US Government Since 1990".
