Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I need a name for a website to start selling my creations. I specialize in baby gifts and toddler clothes with a few adult items. It is mainly girl items. I make alot of denim items also, decorated jackets and overalls. I want if cutezie and simple. I will target the internet and possibly a few craft fairs later in the year.

    Dear crssylee,

Cutezie (I think you might mean cutesy) might appeal to you, but it may not appeal to your potential customers.

I'm suggesting this because your clients are not looking for cute, they're looking for search terms such as:

    newborn baby gifts
    9,900
    8,100

    unique baby gifts
    22,200
    33,100

    baby personalized gifts
    74,000
    60,500

    baby gift
    673,000
    673,000

In each case above the first number is the number of searches on Google for that term last month. The second number is the number of global searches.

The trick here is NOT to market to what YOU think is cute (because you're not buying). The trick instead is to market to the greatest personal compulsions of the people searching for baby gift-related keywords.

    So, how about:

    GreatGiftsForNewBabies.com

which is currently available at www.namecheap.com

Throw in an appropriate number of related keywords, use new mom blogs and forums to promote your wares, and link to a good number of new baby websites that either accept ads or are interested in a link exchange and your advertising overheads ought to be pretty slim.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Crssylee -

    Little Girl Blue
    Oh Very Young
    Baby Blue Gifts

It seems there is a way to play off the denim aspect and the girl. I suggested names that relate to nursery rhymes (Little Boy Blue Come Blow Your Horn), songs (Cat Stevens - "denim blue fading up to the sky"), and so on. Sometimes playing with the sound bites already in people's heads can work well, especially if they include keywords. Hope this helps!
