Need Name For A College Admissions Consulting Biz

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I am starting a College Admissions Counseling business, and I'm having trouble coming up with a name that's unique and exudes a sense of excellence. I will be working with students, the younger the better, and taking them through the process of picking a college, picking a major, applying to school and getting acceptance into the college(s) of their choice. The names I have come up with are very plain and drab, and I need some help with being creative.

    Dear Tanyaa,

Excellence in this scope of work is a given, so ignore it.

And as for plainness and drabness, what you think here is not the issue: it’s what parents think; it’s what kids needing to get into college think. So forget attempting to be creative: let your results speak for themselves.

If the most dynamic thing about you is your business name then you’ve got a problem. What needs to be the most dynamic thing about you is what you do, the results you offer, and the outcome of your influence.

The search term “Admissions Counselor” pulled 40,300 local and global searches last month on Google. This means that if that’s what people are looking for, that’s where your name needs to be.

The keys here are relevance and significance of the searches, then the positioning of your services and the results you offer, THEN conditioning people’s thinking to automatically accept you as the logical first choice in admissions counseling:

To stand out your name needs to instantly telegraph what you do.
    So consider the following:

“Admissions Counseling Inc: Your Logical 1st Choice for College Acceptance”

“Tanya Last name: Your Logical 1st Choice for Admissions Counseling”

Keep it simple. Tell people what you offer. Tell them what you’ll do for them. Tell them what to do in order to take advantage of what you do.

    That’s it.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Looking at two target groups, parents and the young student, you must focus more on their aspirations, what they want from future. All want that their kids get a good life - better than they had. Kids want to get as high as possible as easy as possible.
