Partylite/creative Memories

My friend and I are looking to have an open house. I am selling PartyLite and she is selling Creative Memories. We are looking for a catchy event title for our open house. Any ideas?

    Dear jgriffin02,

You'll be better off having two open houses, one for each brand you're offering. Why? Because the two elements are confusing and with two things going on you'll find people confused as to what's what.

When people are confused or when they feel they are not in control, they tend not to buy. There might also be contractual elements that prevent the two franchises being worked together, that is, unless one company owns both brands. Check your franchise paperwork to be sure, but whatever you do, know this: catchy is not a selling strategy™.

Both PartyLite and Creative Memories have become the giants they are by offering RELEVANCE. This means you must do the same. Forget "catchy", spend the time on figuring out what your invitees are looking for, then name your event (or event's) accordingly.

Wow, candles and scrapbooking, it sounds like your party will be a blast but the naming is not an easy combo to pull off. Anyway here goes...

    ** "Two times the Fun"
** "All the things you wanted get for Christmas" (but didn’t get)
    ** "Double Delight"
    ** "Light up your life"
** "Light a candle for Haiti" (and donate the profits of course)
** "Get lit!" (assuming you are serving alcohol)

My wife is a Southern Living consultant and tells me that combining a party is a lot of fun, but you need to use the appeal of the two offerings to draw a lot more people or you may end up reducing the sales for each of you as people split their spending budget between the two.

    Best of luck, Johnny B.

    Hi!

What a great idea! As someone who is invited to a large number of these home parties it would be great to combine two of them on the same day!

One thought would be hosting one event, but dividing up the time. "Come and learn about both companies - we'll light up your dreams from 1 pm - 2 pm and then help you create memories of those dreams from 2 pm - 3 pm".

Wishing you great success and double the sales!

    Miriam
