Help For Cake Business Name

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I have been designing and making custom cakes for about two years now and I have recently decided to make a small business out of it. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time coming up with a name for my business. I want it to be something young and fun, but not too cheesy. I'd love to have the word "Butterfly" in the title since everyone that knows me, knows about my obsession with Butterflies. If that doesn't work, maybe the word, "Pink", since it's my favorite color, and I have two daughters that are also obsessed with pink!! Any and all suggestions appreciated and wanted VERY much!!!

At first glance, I don't find much to associate "pink" or "butterflies" with creating cakes unless they're all in the shape of the insect or all the color pink.

You could give yourself a nickname and refer to yourself as Pinkie and call it Pinkie's Custom Cakes or something of the sort.

Outside of that, I would look for something that describes what you do and for whom.

Butterfly Bakery comes to mind first.

What does that bring to mind? I don't get a specific idea from it.

"Custom cakes on the wing" as a tag line might help....if you deliver.

    Dear jenebnell7,

The cakes you've made over the last few years? Who have they
been for? Who is you most regular customer? Retirement cakes? Weddings, birthdays? Cupcakes? Layer cakes? Frosted cakes?
Fruit cakes? Ice cream or cheese cakes?

Herein might lie your name because the only people that butterflies
and the colour pink resonates with is you and your children. Only,
you're not the ones buying the cakes. True, the name "Pink Butterfly Cake Company" has a certain ring to it, and it's certainly memorable,
    so, why not.

The thing is to be remembered by the most likely prospect that will be buying your wares, and to be remembered for standing out, and for the quality of your cakes. I hope this helps.

    Good luck to you.
