Names And Tagline Ideas For Home Cleaning....

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi my name is Emma Greedy , Im thinking of setting up my own cleaning business which would be in peoples homes. it is a possibilty that i may look into business cleaning aswell. Ive thought about offering an ironing service aswell which could be done there or as a pick up and delivery service. At first doing this together i thought may help out with getting some business.

i would if i could like a play on words some how with my surname or first name. However this doesnt have to be the case. As long as it is catchy and give the right image.

I have thought something like ELG Cleaning , then putting a tagline starting using the letters ELG ...

im looking at getting flyer and a website done but i need ideas for names , tag lines or slogans first. The area i lie in is the midlands - uk.

Many thanks in advance

Em

    Emma,

We usually recommend that people starting a new business explain what they do and capture the emotional benefit for the target audience in their name and tagline. "Catchy" names/taglines are not nearly as effective as names that communicate an important benefit.

So what this means is that you should try to understand (a) exactly who is in your target audience (the narrower and more focused the better); (b) the most important unmet need your target audience has, and the way they express that need; (c) what you bring to the party that allows you to address the need better than others offering the same or similar services.

I know this sounds like a lot of work just to set up a relatively simple business, but you've obviously recognized the importance of having the right name and tagline, so we might as well do this right.

As for using your name or initials, that usually falls in the "cute and catchy" category, as it only means something to you and those who know you. If you plan to only work for friends, that could work, but if you're planning to expand your customer base to people who don't know you already, using your name probably won't do much for you.

Help us help you by giving some thought to the questions above. Maybe even talk to half a dozen folks who might become customers and see what you can learn. Don't try to sell them on using your services just yet. Just find out what they're doing now, what they wish they had (and don't, or can't find), and how they typically make decisions about the kind of services you plan to offer.
