Name For Craft Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am looking to start selling some different handmade items - mostly online. I make jewelery (mostly beaded), bath salts and room fragrances. I will accept custom orders. Some items use glass beads, others use real gemstones - freshwater pearls being one of my favorites to work with. There is not an easy way to classify my work. It ranges from costume jewelery for kids to elegant pearls you would wear to a formal event. For the bath salts I have a wide variety of containers - simple plastic to beautiful shaped glass. These are the items I plan to start with, but want to add soaps and possibly other items at a later time.
I have tried to come up with names on my own, but when I google them, other businesses are using the same or similar names. My first and last name both start with L, so I thought about something with the 2L's, but there are several out there with L-Squared.

Any help with coming up with a name would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Leah

What does your marketing plan look like? Who is your primary target audience? What benefit will you provide for that audience? How will they find out about your website? Are you expecting that "if you build it they will come?"

What's going to make you any different from (and better than) all the similar businesses out there, selling the same kinds of things you want to sell? What's in it for a consumer to seek you out and buy from you?

What you'd like to do is capture your unique positioning benefit in the name. Trying to use two Ls in the name is a meaningless exercise. Nobody cares how many Ls are in your name. That's not how they decide to purchase from you (or not).

We can help you name your company. But we need to understand your target audience better, and we need to know what important need of theirs you are going to satisfy.
