None of these name have any meaning - they are simply "modern web 2.0" sounding names which may reflect the modern web-based company image you're trying to reflect.

"Xerox" was the first plain paper photocopier using the process of Electro-photography, (later changed to xerography)

Does the Xerox name convey the essence of a copying machine product? Maybe not.

"Escalator", a moving staircase – a conveyor transport device for carrying people between floors of a building, was a trademarked name that lost its trademark status primarily due to common usage and mistakes made by the trademarking company.

So, yes you can make up a single word name. Yes it can and should be relevant in some way to your target audience. And yes, it would be a good idea to have both legal and marketing professional support for the naming process.

Also, google any name you're thinking about to see what shows up.

    hope this helps,

    Steve
