Name And Tag Needed For Catering/prepared Meals Co

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a degree in business and have been working as a chef for a gourmet catering company the past two years. My ultimate goal is to immerse myself in the food industry in order to open my own catering business. I have been doing events by reference and have marketed my services and company as Mis en Place professional catering (meaning everything in its place)

I like the name but i don't think it's user friendly. (I think people will mis-pronounce the name, and don't have an understanding of french or culinary terms) I'm trying to convey in the name that we use fresh ingredients, we're organized and efficient, and provide a superior gourmet product.

I would appreciate everyone's input to help my venture and to create a successful name and tagline.

Thanks in advance

You name might not be immediately recognizable to everyone, but will it be a name that your target market would recognize/appreciate (especially once they understood its meaning)?

You might consider using an alternative spelling to Mise en Place (notice the correct spelling) such as: Meezon Place (or simply "Meezon").

Thanks for the response. To answer your questions I would like to market my company to the upscale user. This niche includes middle-upper to upper class customers.

I have many specialties but I would like to highlight that my company is sustainable, uses the freshest products available, creates flavorful food with great presentation, and takes care of all aspects of the event from planning to execution, beginning to finish.

I have done a SWOT and have found that my strengths include the best quality gourmet food, top notch service, and excellent customer support from planning to payment. Weaknesses include a small customer base, inexperience in pricing menus, etc. Opportunities include opening a retail front for foods to go, and threats would include the competition from other catering companies.

    Hope this info helps.
    Thanks

Thanks for the input Phil. Your answer is very helpful but not exactly what i'm looking for. Yes, "complete catering" does touch on the aspect that we are a catering company, and that everything we do is complete. Now, I need to take it that 1 step further from good to great. I need be more creative in finding the name. For example, a dish you would get at a diner is "flat" and an entree you would get at a 4 star restaurant has "height". I'm not looking for a good, flat name, but one that has height, and catches the public eye.

    Thanks,

    Jeff
