Tagline For " Pebbles"

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Hi everyone,

I'm opening a retail showroom/business that will sell exterior and interior stone products, like brick, pavers, stone, travertine, etc.

I have chosen the name "pebbles".

I need a tagline that will make clear what we do.

We were given

"stone for your home" but that's too generic sounding to me, and we provide projects for any build not just homes.

If your business was selling stone, and it was called PEBBLES-- what would your tagline be?

Phil might have a point about Pebbles

    but I like it.

it helps to know what your value proposition is to come up with a good tagline for you.

"Stone finishes to meet all your needs"
    or something more playful
    "All stone finishes. Finished right.'

I'm with Phil. To me, pebbles are smallish, smooth rounded stones found in riverbeds. Not giant slabs of granite or marble that get sawn up for interior and exterior finishes.

Wasn't Pebbles the red-headed baby girl in The Flintstones? The products you are selling are strong, masculine devices that withstand the elements and tower above all adversity... Not feminine little rounded things that give way underfoot when you walk on them.

I'd be looking for terms like Rock-solid, Castle Rock (because my home is my castle), Bricks and Stones, Brickrock, Hard Rock, Crag. Something that feels enduring, protective, and trustworthy.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, I know. But if the rose was called a stinkwort would you bother to bend to sniff it?

I think your value proposition is something along the lines of "Authentic natural building materials to last a lifetime".

Perhaps if you started with the value proposition, the tagline and name might have become more readily apparent?

    I really appreciate everyone's input.

The idea is to have a name that is modern-- clean and simple, and our target audience would be people who want, clean, simple -- there are those that chose to use stone as a foundation for the look and feel of there home, some use it for an investment and preservation of their dollar, and others, well they use it as an artful highlight.

The industry is hard enough. We want fresh, modern, beautiful design for NEW couple... the educated online consumer, that knows-- when they buy something it's got to have it ALL.

We will be building a virtual showroom that will allow someone to register and use our custom program to design their homes improvements, then matching them to a trusted architect or contractor that suits their needs.

The parent company, or rather initial company produced cement, and tied in with the Flintstones name.

Pebbles is a tie in, tribute, and it makes sense since we will be building the store on the FlintStone property.

Stone, as a product speaks for it's self. It's capabilities are well developed and familiar in the eyes of even a child. It's timeless, and is a default on the concept of hard, strength.

In addition, Asian influence is very heavy in our industry and market. This coupled with our personal heritage (italian) we want to create an ambiance of warmth and cultural intrigue.

We want our customers to come in, and get inspired. We are selling an experience, matched by a quality product, backed by a family of staff that knows what INTEGRITY and creativity is all about.

Ideas for names are welcomed, and I'M LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT TAGLINE...

The perfect tagline to go with an off-strategy name? Huh?

The idea of the name and tagline (taken together) should be to (a) tell what you do, and (b) begin to create some emotional attachment to a clear benefit. That's a lot to expect of just a few words, but that's the goal ... and many brands and companies have done it, so it's not impossible.

What may be impossible is making the tagline do it all AND explaining a name that isn't helping.

I'm with Phil and ChrisB. I don't think Pebbles communicates what you're trying to communicate.
