Catchy Names For Fundraisers

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I need a catchy name for a fundraiser. It is for a nonprofit organization thats mission is to help the homeless. The event is going to be held at the Viking Cooking school as a demonstration class followed by dinner. This is the menu: Dry Rub Barbecued Salmon with tomato, sweet bell pepper and cucumber relish; Basmati Rice Pilaf; Mixed Green Salad with Simple Vinaigrette; Warm Chocolate Tarts (wine will be served). Any ideas appreciated.

    Try these on for size:

"A Heart Healthy Dinner To Help The Homeless"

    OR

"Enjoy a Gourmet Meal & Help Combat Homelessness"

Join us on March 28th at the Viking Cooking School to
enjoy a once-in a-lifetime, gourmet prepared dinner to
    help combat homelessness.

    In lieu of your kind donation, you will enjoy the following;
    etc., etc., etc.

    Enjoy!

    Dear jsd03,

"I need a catchy name for a fundraiser".

No. You don't. You need a RELEVANT name.

You need a name that's SIGNIFICANT.

And you need a name that connects with your audience.

Gary's right. Catchy isn't the goal here. You want a name that will make people want to shell out money and support the event ... maybe even bring friends, spread the word, get involved.

    Forget catchy. Try for effective.

The one thing you can do to help us help you is figure out what criteria you're going to use to pick a name ... assuming we come up with half a dozen good ones. If we know how you are going to pick a winner, it will help us get the right name for you.

Also, it might be good to refer to the city/town/region where this is going to happen. If we can include that in the name it will remind people that their money is helping people right in their community, not somewhere else.

    Example:

A Gourmet Dinner & Fund Raiser
to Help The Elm City Homeless

P.S. The menu is irrelevant. This isn't a restaurant ad.

"Enjoy some eats to help the streets"

    catchy but effective I think.

    Good luck!

Wow. A menu of a bowl of soup and slice of bread worked wonders in our market -- low cost and the stark reality of message delivered garnered lots press, coporation involvement (voluneers) and lots of $$ for the homeless.

    Best of luck
