Suggestions For A Tagline

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,

I am starting a wedding planning company with a friend. We were thinking of "I Thee Wed" as the name of the company.

I was looking for your thoughts and suggestions on the same. Also, we are a little stumped when it comes to our tag line. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

If u zeroed on " I THEE WED" then better change it to sound grammatically correct & a sense of completeness as "I WED THEEE".

Otherwise - think on "Heavenly Yours" / "Yours Romantically" kinds .... to grounded one words syllable - "Silken" / "Aureate"..

My confusion with your proposed name is at first blush it sounds like you're a wedding officiant, not a planner. Compare with "Here Comes The Event", which focuses on the planning aspect rather the ceremony itself.

You might also consider using the tagline: Get Hitched (With No Hitches)

"I Thee Wed" doesn't tell what you do or why someone would consider hiring you.

My suggestion is to start with a positioning statement: Who is your primary target audience? Where do they live? How big do they want the wedding to be? When/where do they want to have the event? Etc.

Then what important need do they have that only you can satisfy (or only you can satisfy in some unique way)? Why should they hire YOU, and not one of the other wedding planners in the area? And why should they believe your claims/promises? What experience do you have? How many of these events have you produced? Etc.

Help us help you by addressing these fundamental questions. You'll be glad you thought this through, rather than jumping at what "seemed like a cute idea at the time."

"I Thee Wed" unfortunately doesn't stick in my head and is somewhat lost in translation. If you want people to know exactly what it is you do, rather than a cute creative name you should veer toward simple and obvious.

With that being said, I agree with Phil's suggestion as that's almost exactly what I came up with, "The Wedding Planners". The reasoning behind this is due to the hit movie "The Wedding Crashers" being such a popular name so why not give your company the same memorability? Also it's exactly what you do, no confusion. Simple and to the point. Almost like you're company is the origin of wedding planning.

    "The Wedding Planners":

"Planning your wedding is a piece of cake"

"Ensuring your wedding goes as smoothly as the frosting on your cake"

"Get married, let us handle the rest."

"The planning is the easy part" (humorous)

    Hope these help!

I like as a tag line "you thee wed, we thee party" which would mean a different name. Maybe something like "I Do, Event Planners".

    Something different anyway.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions. I am going to work on the positioning a little bit more and I quite like Phil and Dean's suggestion on "Professional wedding planners"

Thank you once again and please do let me know if there are any more suggestions.
