Name For A Bakery (breads)/cafe

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We are opening a bakery/café which will specialize in artisan breads along with a small menu of fresh, organic items. We will also feature some gourmet cheeses/meats/olives, etc. Having trouble coming up with a unique name.

Who are your target customers? Where do they live? Where do they get their bread now? What unmet need of theirs are you going to satisfy? Why should they buy from you?

If you can answer those questions, we can come up with a great name for you. Without that information we're shooting in the dark.

    How about "Knead"?
Just a quick stab at it as more information would be useful to come up with a more appropriate name.

There are various options to go about this. But to make it easier for everyone here to help you with a great name. Providing us with detailed information about your bakery/cafe will be great. I think the two posters above have covered what would be nice to know.

I don't know if i'm allowed to post a link here.
But i've noticed many questions asking for help naming companies, or stores. If anyone is interested (if i'm actually allowed to post this, moderator pls remove it if i'm not suppose to) www.pitstopbranding.com is a website that offers short online branding knowledge on various topics including brand naming. It's not live yet, but check it out. It might become handing for marketers and brand managers.

Thank you all for your quick responses. The café would offer artisan breads, some pastries (i.e. croissants, brioches, muffins, Danish, etc.) although not cakes or donuts, as well as sandwiches, soups, etc. The store is located in an rather well-to-do area in an old mill building. It is located along a well-traveled road used by commuters with nowhere else to stop for coffee and breakfast pastry. There are no bakeries/cheese shops or cafés within the immediate area. Currently, our target customers must drive 20-30 minutes to purchase these items. The area also has an art community nearby, which hosts many art shows and festivals throughout the year. The store will focus on artisan breads/pastries of French origin and feature (hopefully) local cheeses, etc.
