Life’s Transitions, Inc (LTI) serves disabled and disadvantaged individuals in finding employment, retaining employment, and to excel and find better work opportunities within their job or beyond, allowing them independence and the self-worth that comes with employment. We also assist people of varying abilities to transition from school to work and post-secondary education.

The event is to introduce the organization to the community and notify them of these services available to them. This is the first fund raising event of exposure.

What type of fund raising event are you planning? e.g. Walk-a-thon, run, community meal? Target market (s)? One day event? Indoor/outdoor?

Just found this idea on a meetings site; may give you another idea:

Write a wish or pledge on Flying Wish Paper and light it on fire; once it burns completely, the film of ash floats away. At a benefit, charge a few dollars for attendees to make their own wishes, or at a retreat, give attendees the chance to write down negative thoughts before burning the papers all at once. A kit of 50 sheets costs $15, or the papers can be customized for orders of 2,000 kits minimum. It's relatively safe, but the event space needs to allow open flames.
