Need Quick Ideas For Logo For Non Profit Event

Posted by margie on 250 Points
We are Tyler Type 1 Diabetes Foundation, a new non-profit organization in Tyler, Texas. We support children and families who have been diagnosed and affected by Type I Diabetes (a.k.a., juvenile diabetes), a potentially fatal and genetic (read: unpreventable) disease. Check us out at www.tylertypeone.org

We provide ongoing support and education, we raise public awareness about the early warning signs of Type 1 Diabetes for young parents, and we provide first-response support for families where a child has just received this tragic diagnosis.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a great name for our first annual fundraising event, which is a ranch rodeo and concert. The rodeo will have adult rodeo events plus will feature children riding sheep (mutton bustin'), calf-roping, barrel racing and family-friendly events. A great concert as part of the 10 am - 2pm Saturday event is also as important as the rodeo piece. This year we have internet singing sensation "Daves Highway", a brother/sister group of kids who sing tight country gospel harmonies as our featured artists. Find them at www.daveshighway.com and be sure to listen to some of their music featured on YouTube.

There will also be food vendors, pony rides, clowns, educational booths and will be located at a beautiful large working horse ranch in the rolling hills of East Texas. The environment will be like a state fair or outdoor carnival centered around a rodeo.

The name needs to feel really FUN, kid/family-friendly and Texas/Western.

Type 1 usually strikes children from birth to age 20, so the audience would be women (20 - 35). Keep in mind that it needs to have a strong appeal to children and dads, too, so that everyone will want to come.

Earthy colors as it is a rodeo. Once again, I really want a slogan that is catchy. A sub title is going to be "Ranch Rodeo and Concert".

If it were up to me, I would NOT feature the mission (Type 1 Diabetes) in the name. You're not selling a cure or the organization. You're selling the event.

I'd focus instead on the "family fun" aspect -- especially since you plan to list the components in your tagline.

What I'm confused about is what it is you want from us. The subject line of your question refers to a logo, and you refer to "earthy colors" in your last paragraph. If it's really a logo you want, let me suggest you hire a graphic designer who does logo design and development.

If it's a NAME you want, then we're the folks for that, and you've provided enough information for us to run with it.

Sorry, I should not have said "earthy colors". I really need the "name" of the event. That is what I'm looking for. I need a creative name for the event.

    Does that help?

Rodeo To The Highway (and change the subtitle: A Benefit For Tyler Type 1 Diabetes Foundation)

A Rip Roarin', Mutton Bustin', Toe Tappin' Party (same subtitle as previous suggestion)

Thanks so much for the responses. I have been thinking. I really would like the event name to be something short and sweet and then I will create the tag line 7 words or less. I really need ideas for the actual name of the event. Maybe a creative use of a compound word that makes you think of a Rodeo and Concert. Or just two words that are catchy.

    Any ideas along that line?

    GL with your event.

I appreciate all the responses but I'm not quite ready to accept all the responses. Someone I know came up with

    "Cowboy Up for Kids"

that is the sort of thing I'm looking for so I can ad the tag line
    Ranch Rodeo and Concert
a benefit for Kids with Diabetes

    Any more creative thoughts?
