Name For Group Fitness Along Beautiful Riverfront.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm looking at starting outdoor fitness groups along the beautiful river frontage where i live. i dnt know if i should have an overall business name and then individual names for the diff types off classes i want to run. I think this would prob work best as i want to target the extremely unfit in one class and then average to great fitness levels in another..

I want ppl who hvnt exercise in a long time and to make them feel comfortable enough to come out and give it a go..(if they can only walk 50m and need a rest i dnt care i just want to see them trying to get their life back) i'm thinking maybe circuit style where each individual can push themselves to their own limits (with me there to push them that little bit further)

i think words like 'fitness' and 'exercise' will scare the unfit clients off.. i like the idea of incorporating the word 'river' into the name as it paint the picture of a more relaxed vibe and isn't as intimidating as hearing the words 'gym'.. i was thinking along the lines of 'RiverFit' but still dsnt hit the nail on the head for me.
any suggestions or direction that you can give me would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks so muchly !

I think you need input from your target audience, not from a bunch of marketing couch potatoes. (OK, so some of us go to the gym occasionally.)

Have you actually interviewed a bunch of folks in your target audience to see what they have to say ... about their attitudes toward fitness and exercise, about the likelihood that they'd try your concept, and about the words they use to describe their feelings (regarding exercise)?

If not, I would strongly urge that you do so. Develop a simple discussion guide with the high-gain questions, and then interview at least a dozen people who would likely fit into your primary target audience definition. Ask your questions and listen carefully to their responses. Take detailed notes. And do not try to recruit them; just ask, listen, nod a lot, and take notes.

Once you have 12-15 interviews under your belt, step back and review/analyze your notes. You will be amazed at how much you will have learned. And you'll probably have a much better basis for naming your company.
