Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,

I have incorporated a new company named - SpectraSoul Technology Solutions Private Ltd. This company is a global IT consultant, Service and most importantly a IT Application Product oriented company.

Hence, I need a good punch line which will speak and give a unique branding for the company.

Thank You.

We can help, but we need more information first.

Since the SpectraSoul name doesn't give any clue to what makes you different or special, you'll need to tell us what it is about your company that would appeal to your target audience. And you should tell us very specifically who your prime target audience is, where they're located, what kinds of services they need, etc.

This information is more important for the purpose of creating a punch line (a/k/a tagline) than anything else, since the purpose of the punch line is to grab the attention of your target audience and tell them what unique and important benefit you will deliver for them.

You might also give some thought to what you're trying to communicate and how you'll evaluate our suggestions. What criteria will you use to pick a winning punch line? If you can tell us that, there's a good chance we'll come up with some great ideas. If you can't tell us that, then we'll probably not be very helpful.

    Hi,

US. SpectraSoul Technology Solutions is a global IT consultant and services company that has succeeded in leveraging its people, products and processes to provide value to its customers.

The following are the services provided by SpectraSoul Technology Solutions:

    1) Website Development
    2) Software Application / Product Development

Some of the websites that we have developed are:

    1) www.spectrasoulfoundation.org
    2) https://richcoreindia.com/
    3) https://prsbuilders.com/
    4) https://grahapravesam.com/
    5) https://powerstonepoomaalai.com/
    6) https://poomalaihousing.com/
    7) www.ixped.com

    Library Management Software
We have also developed and installed a sophisticated software product – Library Management System (LMS) in many colleges. This product automizes all the operations performed in a library. Once this software is installed at your premises, most of your accounting data that are written on books will be stored in MS-SQL database and reports can be in much more presentable way with no compromise on the accuracy of the data.

I hope this info helps you.

    Regards,
    Afroze.

    Hi Karen,

Thank you for your response. However, I would like to let you know a couple of things that Iam looking for in the punch line.

    1) The punch line should not be limited to Website designing / library management software as these services are just to start..Later on, we will diversify our portfolio to may products across many domains. Hence, we cannot go with just Library software / wesbsite designing.

    2) The punch line should be generic and not too technical. For example - this website (markettingprofs) has the punch line - "Smart thinking.. Pass it on". A couple of other punch lines that I saw for different companies were :

--> "Passion to make do business"
    --> "Appying thoughts"
    --> "Flat World"

    3) The core values of SpectraSoul Technology Solutions are - "Honesty, Trust, Passion, Excellence, Determination & Commitment"

--> The punch line should always hold good for the present and for the future and whenever people listen to this punch line , then they should remember SpectraSoul Technology Solutions.

    Thank you,
    Regards,

First, a word to the wise: A punch line is the last line of a joke that makes people laugh. What you are looking for, to go with your company name, to explain its core value proposition in a unique, pithy, short and hopefully memorable phrase, is called a tag line.

Second, I don't want to pour cold water on your shiny new venture, but I have to say I feel you are probably taking the wrong approach.

You have described a business model that you say you have just incorporated, as "SpectraSoul Technology Solutions is a global IT consultant and services company that has succeeded in leveraging its people, products and processes to provide value to its customers."

There are hundreds if not thousands of companies around the globe that make claims like that, and maybe some of them are well founded. But you have just incorporated your company. Are you really global? Where are all your offices? How many employees, 5,000 - 10,000?

If you really have just incorporated this new company I suspect you don't have many employees or offices, so laying claim to be a global IT company may be a bit of a long bow to draw.

How about a bit of reality in your description? Tell us how things really are?

OK, then you say you are a company that does:

    1) Website Development
    2) Software Application / Product Development

...but when Karen gives you some tagline options focusing on those niches, you tell her you don't want to be limited to web design or library management software.

Let me give you the big tip: Nobody is going to believe a specious claim that you can be all things to all people on any technological platform without any boundaries and on a global basis.

You need to get a clear, and very sharp focus, to your business and value proposition, if you are to survive with this newly-incorporated company.

If you do websites well, then be that guy.

If you do library management systems well, be that guy.

But don't be so afraid that you will miss any software development opportunity that may be just around the next corner that you lose all focus.

Because focus is what allows businesses to survive.

Customers want specialists in solving their needs, their problems, not some guy who thinks he can give any problem a red-hot go. Customers buy experience, skill, understanding of specifics. They do not buy generalists any more.

So have a good hard think abut the business you really want to be in, and come back and tell us. Because with a vague fuzzy business objective you will attract vague fuzzy enquiries. And they don't easily convert to sales revenue.

    Hope that helps.

    ChrisB
