Logo And Tag Line Suggestions Needed

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a web site that will be launching shortly, we are still hashing out the logo look and tag line. The site is MenWhoWine.com - for men who love wine and love to cook. ( not necessarily cooking with wine or wine pairing) - just recommending a wine they like to drink.

Today's kids (and some adults) see restaurant jobs as HORRIBLE or men who cook as not "manly".... I see men who cook as great role models - (and speaking as a woman, who doesn't like a man who can cook?)

I see the web site as great recipes, role models and wine.

Not a site for wine geeks... more of drink wine you like.

All suggestions appreciated.

    Phil,

I am not going to promote the men who submit recipes as role models, that's just how I see them...

So the site is about men who love wine and love to cook = offering a wine suggestion and a recipe.

My son is the web designer by profession and is creating the site - so no expense there... my intent is to update it several times a week and daily as I get more participants. ( I am capable of that). I have a lot of support from wineries.

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it but I am not looking for the run of the mill "normal" - what is expected." There is something there for men who love wine.... and something else, something unexpected..... food, recipes.... from restaurants, wineries, festivals, backyard bbq's. Men who love wine also like to eat. Food and wine are a given. If they like to cook, the recipes are a plus.

You are exactly right, there are tons of sites with wine and food pairings. This is not about the "right wine" to go with the "right" food. People buy wine they LIKE, not a wine because it goes with a recipe. Wineries want to sell wine, they want to find the people who like to drink their wine and buy it - not rate it.

I've run very large wine festivals with gourmet food - the wineries are not about pairing their wines with the "right food" or teaching people how to rate wine.... no, they are trying to find people who like their product and buy it - lots of it... fans for life.

So I am looking to "sell" to those men (and women) who love wine.... and they tell their friends and it spreads.

We went with just a wine glass and a distinctive font. :)

So the response that meets our needs was - wine for the common man.

Thank you. I'll let you know if how we do...
