Name My Furniture Design Company!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm currently in the process of setting up my furniture designer/maker company in Northumberland. I will be concentrating my designs on contemporary furniture and interiors aimed at the mid to high end market. My surname is Battaglia, as i'm half Italian, many friends and family like the name as it is. However in 6 months Icould have business partner (a local furniture designer maker with the same design mindset). I dont feel people will buy into it if it's just my name and it would give the impression of a one man band. Therefore i feel have a quirky, catchy, fresh brand name would be more suitable. I'd love to hear your ideas.

Many thanks

Dan

p.s Some brand name i love are: I love dust, Candy and Candy, Heals, Pinch, Elu, Sumo, electric sheep, prefab

Versace, Prada, Armani, Gucci and many other family names are very successful as designer brands, with many employees and partners. So maybe rethink using "Battaglia" as your trademark. Then you could add a tagline to convey how you are differentiated from the competition, for example:

    Battaglia(TM)
    Human Factor Design for Furniture
(just a guess, need more info for better tag line)

    hope this helps,

    Steve

    Many thanks Steve and Paul

Just a quick note Paul, my fault though. The names that I said I liked the sound of are already very successful design firms, one worth over £8bn. It was to show how a brand name doesn't always have to sound like the industry its set in.

Anyway, as both of you have mentioned using my surname could still be very viable. Therefore Battaglia & Brady - Contemporary Furniture & Interiors , would work fine.

    Thanks once again guys
