Dave Krehbiel Needs Your Help!

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I'm issuing a call for all of Dave's friends in KHE to provide him with some much needed assistance. There are a lot of fix-it jobs needing done around his home and his family is maxxed out. As I told Dave, if I lived anywhere reasonably close to him I'd be right over to pitch in. In place of that Dave asked in a recent blog post if friends might be willing to donate, so they can pay someone to perform the much needed work.

At my urging they have set up a PayPal account for Dave to be able to easily accept financial assistance. If you would like to pitch in to help our long time friend and much respected member of KHE please contact me at grosensteel @ nucopro . com and I will share his PayPal account information.

Here's the text of the blog post Dave recently made - - >

The last time I posted an update, it was November and the weather was just turning cold. Boy, I am enjoying the warm weather, and the opportunity to get out and about in Olney.

Most people ask how I am doing. Personally, I am doing fine, but I'm concerned my family is getting overwhelmed, since I'm no longer able to help with household repairs and maintenance.

Sometimes people ask if there is anything they can do to help. We would certainly appreciate some help with any of the following:

- Replacing a faulty bathroom light fixture (urgently needed)

- Laying sod and/or putting down some grass seed in a couple bare areas

- Trimming some bushes damaged by the snowstorms

- trimming dead tree branches (some are about 20 feet in the air)

- Touch-up painting, pulling weeds, planting a bush, other small household repairs

My wife and kids already have their hands full working, paying bills, managing caregivers, battling with suppliers and insurance companies, and taking such good care of me. A lot of people have kindly said, "whatever you need, just ask." Well, we are asking. Any help you can provide to our family will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Dave Krehbiel

P.S. Thanks again to everyone who has worked to build this nice addition, shoveled snow, and helped in many ways

If a dozen of us each kick in $20 via PayPal that will generate fund of $240. That's a couple days' pay for a handyman. And if 20 of us do that, then a tree surgeon can show up for the aerial tree work too.

Surely we can make that happen. Gary, send me the PayPal information. I'd sure appreciate it if the shoe were on the other foot ... and I blow $20 on a lot less important things than this.

This is a good way to demonstrate our community spirit to address a real-world need ... for one of our own. Better than another few taglines for fledgling realtors or wanna-be jewelry designers, right?

    I'm in.

Can't be there in body, but the long arm of PayPal reaches all around the world.

Thanks Gary, and good luck to Dave and his family.

PayPal is sent as a small token of the best wishes I have for Dave. And thanks to Randall for the background - I wasn't aware of the situation.

Could we have a notice on the MarketingProfs FaceBook site as that is where some appeals grow through the appreciation of those who see them – The forum would not have become the force that it has without Telemoxie and MarketingProfs would never have grown to it’s current size and stature without the impetus created by the KHE and veterans like Dave.

We are limited here by just how many people look at your original posting and how many respond to private emails from the veterans to their pals.

How do we get a posting on the official MP FB site? Or the front page, here!?

Thank you so much for your help... here is a quick status update.

I had originally posted a request for help on the caringbridge website, which has been forwarded to your attention on marketing profs.

With your assistance, and with the help of a number of neighborhood volunteers, I have been able to get caught up on the major household maintenance items which I had discussed. But I think the biggest impact of your generosity has been on me. It has helped me to focus on positive things that I can get organized and accomplished, rather than simply worrying about things I can no longer do.

If anyone still wants to help, there are some additional lower priority projects, which I would sure appreciate some help with, including: paint an outside door, repair a shed, paint upstairs bathroom, stain a section of floor which has been bleached by the sun, replaced an aging and ailing dishwasher.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
